Cape Town

This large, purpose-built gallery has caused some disquiet among locals for its austere, imposing facade. Inside, airy spaces host rotating exhibitions of contemporary paintings, sculpture and audio-visual art. Best of all though is the vast and rambling sculpture garden with its plethora of indigenous flora. Entrance is free on Tuesdays. The restaurant (mains R80-190) serves modern South African cuisine.
