A Morning at the Market and Meandering Montmartre
Overview
This morning, you’ll meet a local French chef at a traditional Parisian market. Under the chef’s culinary guidance, you’ll experience what it's like to shop, cook, and — of course — eat like a true Parisian. After your market visit, you’ll partake in a classic French cooking class, during which you’ll learn how to prepare the country’s most iconic dishes. Then, you’ll dig in and savor the fruits of your labor. In the afternoon, take the metro to Montmartre for views and a quick visit to the Sacré-Cœur. You can either climb the neighborhood’s infamous stairs, or ride the funicular to reach the famous "Butte de Montmartre" and enjoy a great view of Paris. After your visit, stroll through the artist’s neighborhood, where you'll encounter local craftspeople — many of whom will draw your portrait, if you so please. There are also some great shops and cafés around, if you want to sit back and soak in the atmosphere à la the French writers and philosophers of eras past. Looking for a great restaurant? La Bohéme is an exceptional brasserie, though the neighborhood oozes with additional bistros, creperies, and wine bars. (Breakfast and lunch)
