Near the northern end of ul Szeroka is the district’s smallest synagogue and one of only two in the area still used regularly for religious services. The Remuh Synagogue was established in 1558 by a rich merchant, Israel Isserles, and is associated with his son Rabbi Moses Isserles, a philosopher and scholar. The admission fee covers access to the adjacent cemetery.
