The Museo Regional de Chiapas, an imposing modern building constructed in 1982, was under much-needed renovation at the time of research (it's a fabulous design but had been left to deteriorate). It is worth checking out when it reopens in 2020. It has a sampling of lesser archaeological pieces from Chiapas’ many sites, and a history section, running from the Spanish conquest to the revolution, all in Spanish only.
