Rail Museum

Mysuru (Mysore)

This open-air museum’s main exhibit is the Mysuru maharani’s saloon, an 1899 wood-panelled beauty with gilded ceilings and chandeliers that provides an insight into the stylish way the royals once rode the rails. There are also steam engines, locomotives and carriages to investigate, many of which were manufactured in the UK. A toy train rides the track around the museum 16 times daily.
