Sankt Mikael Kyrka

Åland Archipelago

Dating from the 1200s, Sankt Mikael Kyrka is the ancient place of worship in Pålsböle, a small village just 5km north of Godby. The church has a well-preserved interior featuring a wealth of medieval frescos and sculptures, most dating from the 15th century. Look for several depictions of St Michael himself, as well as the primitively carved triptych altarpiece.
