About Steve
From exploring the Grand Canyon off-route to running with Christmas demons in Germany, I write about destinations and experiences worldwide for Lonely Planet. A former editor at New Mexico Magazine, I am based in Albuquerque and travel the world for adventure and destination stories.
I am particularly interested in cultural travel, and defer to Mark Twain when summarizing my passion for adventure and travel: "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." I am also a Wilderness EMT with the Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council technical search and rescue team.
