About Ryan Ver
I have been writing for Lonely Planet since 1997 and have worked on hundreds of books covering most of the continents. I love Europe, where I lives much of the year, as well as my native land of California. I have also worked as an investigative journalist, and I've covered everything from wars to bars – I definitely prefers the latter. When not writing about travel, I like to, well, travel. Look for me in Asia, the Americas or riding a train in Europe.
