About Marti
I have lived in San Sebastian since 2010. In that time, I have managed to eat more pintxos than perhaps any human ever, crushed txakoli grapes with my feet, and floated over the Rioja in a hot-air balloon. You'll find me anywhere from Alabama to Spain, sipping salmorejo in Andalucía and breakfasting ensaimada in the Balearic Islands or surfing in southwest France and eating oysters in Arcachon. I am the author of the acclaimed cookbooks Basque Country (Artisan, 2018) and The Book of Pintxos (2024) and write for international food and travel titles.
