Originally from the Northeast of England, I have been a travel guide author for the last two decades and have penned guides for all major travel publishers, including over 100 for Lonely Planet. I have covered destinations as diverse as Siberia and the Caribbean and much in-between. I am happiest mountain biking, hiking, running a lonely trail or kayaking a river with my two sons and wife Tanya.
