About Kimberly
I am a writer and translator originally from the southwestern U.S. desert region and currently based in Tokyo. My features tend to land at the intersection of travel, social issues, arts/culture and food/drink, or some combination thereof. Besides contributing regular articles to local publications, including the Japan Times, I co-authored the 2024 Lonely Planet Tokyo and the upcoming Tokyo Experience guidebooks. I am a travel and language fiend who speaks French, Portuguese and Spanish (and their related cousin, Portuñol!) in addition to Japanese. You can usually find me with my laptop, drinking coffee in the cafes across the metropolis, or at home working in my micro veggie garden.
