A world traveler and adventurer, I have penned over 50 guidebooks for countries throughout the world. I am an expert on climate and clean energy, travel, international development, food, wine, Latin America and adventure sports, and I have also contributed as an authoritative expert for such media outlets as Newsweek, The Washington Post, BBC Radio, Rick Steve’s Radio and Let’s Travel Radio. I have written articles on travel, culture, history and politics for National Geographic Traveler, BBC, Wild Blue Yonder, Lonely Planet, The San Jose Mercury News, The San Francisco Examiner, The Miami Herald, Sommelier Journal, Fodor’s, Adbusters and more. I have done keynote addresses on sustainable travel, adventure travel and environmentalism, and have written, produced and hosted videos for Lonely Planet, BBC and the United Nations. I published his first novel, Martha, in 2019. In my free time, I write screenplays, plays with his kids, and adventures around the Rocky Mountains.
