About Elen
I am a travel writer and editor based in New Zealand, and Nepal is my second home. After a stint in academia that took me on research trips throughout India, I packed up and moved to Nepal to work in the local media. A child and a pandemic later, I have now settled on the South Island, where I continue to write about travel in New Zealand, Nepal, and further afield. I have co-authored two Lonely Planet guides to New Zealand: Experience New Zealand (2022) and the bluespine guide to New Zealand (2023).
