About Anja
I’ve been traveling the world professionally as a writer and editor since the year of 2000. During that time, I’ve penned hundreds of articles for publications like The Washington Post, National Geographic Traveler, BBC Travel and Condé Nast Traveler; co-authored more than 25 guidebooks (including the most recent edition of Lonely Planet Croatia); spoken about travel and hospitality at events worldwide; and once briefly got lost in the Bolivian Amazon while on assignment (the longest 30 minutes of my life).
After two decades outside Croatia, including over 15 years in New York as my home base, I’m back in Zagreb, where I was also born and raised. These days, I’m very intentional about my travels, especially those that involve flying; I try to make my journeys as slow as possible, infused with meaning, soul and connection.
