Washington Square Inn

North Beach & Chinatown

On sunny Washington Sq, this restored 1910 inn offers European style, complete with wine-and-cheese receptions and continental breakfasts in bed. The rooms are traditionally styled, with brocade curtains, antique tables and tapestry pillows. The least-expensive rooms don't leave much space for North Beach shopping, and one has a bathroom across the hall – but this is a stellar location. No elevator.
