29 Madeira Hostel

One of only two hostels in Funchal, these laid-back lodgings occupy a beautifully restored 1930s city-centre town house. The revamp is of 21st-century vintage but there are also period touches and examples of Madeiran handicrafts throughout. There's also a guest kitchen and common room.
