The high-rising Grand Papua brings yet more luxury to the Town scene, with handsomely appointed but somewhat dark rooms, free wi-fi (hallelujah!), a decent but pricey restaurant with an international menu and excellent breakfast buffet, a British gentlemen's club–style bar and loads of amenities (including spa services). Substantial weekend discounts. Inconsistent service in the restaurant and elsewhere is Grand Papua's Achilles heel.
