La Bodega di Prospero

Lucca

This old-fashioned food shop is easy to spot – look for the shop window stuffed with sacks of beans, lentils and other local pulses. Inside, bottles of Lucchesi wine and Garfagnese biscotti al farro (spelt biscuits) tempt. Amble to the back of the shop to linger over a tasting platter of local salami, lardo and cheese, a glass of Vin Santo and almond-studded cantuccini or simple glass of wine.
