Museo Naturalistico Francesco Minà Palumbo

Tyrrhenian Coast

Named after the naturalist Francesco Minà Palumbo (1814–99), this unassuming museum is housed in the former convent of Santa Venera. Its wide-ranging collection of artefacts – painstakingly mounted insects, taxidermied animals, mineral specimens, elegantly rendered nature illustrations from Palumbo's own hand – offer an exhaustive insight into the natural history and archaeology of the Monti Madonie.
