Firehouse Bakery

Top choice in County Wicklow

Pastries are piled high on the counters at this bakery/cafe 3km southwest of Greystones. Breakfast (eg sautéed wild Wicklow Mountains mushrooms and poached eggs on sourdough baked in a wood-fired oven) is served to noon; lunch dishes include spectacular pizzas (such as blue cheese and pear or smoked aubergine, tomato and mint sour cream). Coffee comes from on-site roastery Roasted Brown.

The attached deli sells produce from local artisans, farmers and foragers, plus freshly caught seafood.

Upstairs is gourmet restaurant Pigeon House.
