Rustic-contemporary Pigeon House, 3km southwest of Greystones, has a stunning interior of reclaimed timbers, richly coloured walls and a glassed-in kitchen showcasing the culinary action. Book ahead for fine dining of an evening (offerings include duck-liver parfait with pear-and-raisin chutney; and pan-fried sea bream with samphire gnocchi). Gastropub-style lunch choices span ploughman's lunches with Wicklow blue cheese and caramelised onions to seafood skillets.

Downstairs is the fabulous Firehouse Bakery, also with a cafe and deli.
