The old fish factory is a big, bright community centre and event space opposite Hótel Bláfell. It opens most days in summer with a cafeteria-style lunch, catering to groups and tourists passing through. There's also an interesting free exhibit of a large relief map of Iceland, made in concrete in the 1930s by artist Axel Helgason.
