YHA Boggle Hole

North York Moors National Park

A £1.2 million revamp has lovingly reimagined this sea-view hostel inside a heritage mill, which lies hidden in the folds of a bay a mile south of Robin Hood's Bay like a ship's stowaway. The main building is a cosy warren of rooms above a cool cafe with a log-burner and outside decking; up on the hill there's a newer block – the Crow's Nest.

The hostel isn't accessible by car or public transport; park at the top of the hill and walk the 10 minutes down to the beach, or you can walk from Robin Hood's Bay when the tide is out.
