Always humming with local chatter, the traditional, wood-beamed Ship has all the comfort of your favourite armchair. Its walls are pleasingly cluttered with maritime paraphernalia – a ship's bell here, a gnarly fishbone there – and its classic pub grub (quiches, fish and chips, etc) is hearty and satisfying. The menu is fancied up a bit in the evening. Try the Holy Island gin, made in-house.
There's a grassy beer garden for summer and wood-burner for chilly winter days, and rooms are also available. Note that the pub closes for a couple of weeks each November and January.
