El Delirio

Top choice in Riobamba

Named for a poem by the great liberator, Simón Bolívar, this former hacienda (now in the city center) serves comida típica (traditional Ecuadorian food) in a candlelit dining room. The open fire, wooden booths, antiques and artwork-covered walls make for an inviting atmosphere. Service is slow but the almuerzos (set lunches; $10) are excellent and the patio is simply amazing. Live music weekend evenings.
