Thursday Market

Central Highlands

One of the most authentic markets in the central highlands is held on Thursdays in Guamote, with separate sections for vendors of horses and donkeys; pigs, cow and sheep; guinea pigs and chickens; cereal, fruits, vegetables and rice; traditional clothing; and an area solely dedicated to potatoes.

In fact, you can see the action start to heat up on Wednesday afternoons, when many of the vendors start coming into town from the countryside.
