About Andrea
After growing up in Germany, I caught the travel bug as a child when my mom whisked me around much of Europe, sparking my curiosity about other countries, cultures and languages. I have logged a gazillion miles traveling to over 80 countries on five continents, carrying my dog-eared passport like a badge of honor. Along the way, I've made many friends and lifelong memories, like snorkelling with sharks in the Galapagos Islands, watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat and breaking bread with Berbers in Morocco. After a couple of decades living under the California sunshine, I now do my best to keep up with the whirlwind energy of Berlin, my latest base of operations.
I have authored or contributed to well over 100 Lonely Planet titles. I am a destination expert on Germany, Dubai and the UAE as well as many islands in Greece and the Caribbean and also work as a travel consultant, translator and editor.
