This 1950s-era building, with original custom-built furniture, resides in the tree-lined grounds of the Australian National University (ANU) and is favoured by research students, visiting academics and the occasional politician. The spacious rooms and two-bedroom apartments are unadorned but comfortable. There's also a peaceful central courtyard and a friendly cafe downstairs.
