Built into the hillside are Mayense's individually designed chalets, each with outstanding views. All are beautiful in their simplicity and blend in seamlessly with their natural environment. Some are built into the granite rocks, with a huge handmade bath with a view, while others are open to the elements so it feels as if you’re sleeping in the wild.
The food cooked here uses as much locally sourced produce as possible. The friendly and hospitable Dutch owners Inge and Frank both used to manage nearby Kasanka National Park, and hence know the area well. Plus Frank is one of the country's leading bird-watching guides.
