The Myddelton on the Square

Occupying a wonderful Tudor building on the main square – known as 'the Seven Eyes', for its multiple dormer windows – this grill-focused bistro/bar name checks 16th-century owner Sir Hugh Myddelton, the entrepreneur who brought fresh water to London via his New River. The slow-cooked pork is particularly good, while the seafood brochettes are another winner.
