Pryd o Fwyd

Top choice in Swansea, The Gower & Carmarthenshire

Don’t be put off by the unpretty exterior, the inside of Pryd o Fwyd ('bite to eat' in Welsh) is much more welcoming and the food, prepared by chef Guy, who’s also the postmaster (the post office is in the same building), is excellent and innovative. Light lunches are available, while in the evening the fine dining highlights include salt-marsh lamb, vegetarian jalfrezi and delicious vegan pies.

It's just a five-minute walk from Ferryside train station but is slightly hidden away off Ferryside's main street, Carmarthen Road, so ask a local for the post office if you get lost.
