As the name might suggest, basic Woodstock has some dirt under its fingernails, but if you want a uniquely old-school hippie backpacker crash pad, there's no better place. Dorm beds can be as simple as a mattress on the balcony or a tent on the beach, but there are a few air-con-cooled rooms in the main structure.
It's located on the main road, 9km west of Cat Ba Town, with a free daily shuttle into town.
