The Meracus is in the thick of things near Hoan Kiem Lake, but without the traffic noise thanks to two layers of double-glazed windows. This ornate hotel has spacious rooms for Hanoi, some with a balcony and all featuring plush beds, marble washbasins, laptops in rooms, real wooden floors and antique touches for an old-world feel. The included buffet breakfast is excellent.
