Green Bamboo Lodge

A 150m walk from the ferry crossing, on the east bank of the river, this popular cluster of thatched bamboo-and-brick bungalows comes in a dozen good-value configurations, most of which offer riverside views. The most expensive stilt houses come with air-con and treehouse-style balconies overlooking the chocolate-brown river. Reception can arrange onward transport and tours, and the riverside restaurant is good.
