Big Trees Lodge Dining Room

Yosemite National Park

Beautiful sequoia-painted lamps light this old-fashioned dining room, and the Victorian detail makes it an enchanting place to have an upscale – though somewhat overpriced – meal. (‘Tasteful, casual attire’ is the rule for dinner dress.) There’s a barbecue on the lawn from 5pm to 7pm every Saturday during summer.

The hotel’s wide white porch makes a snazzy destination for evening cocktails. Listen for veteran pianist Tom Bopp in the lobby.
