Partly owned by Justin Vernon, frontman for the indie/folk band Bon Iver, the Oxbow is a major marker in Eau Claire's claim as a burgeoning hipster haunt. The rooms are stylishly spare but given beautiful retro touches like working turntables (and plenty of vinyl to play). Sleek stone flooring and big hardwood doors lend character.
There's an excellent on-site restaurant, the Lakely, and the hotel rents bikes and kayaks in nice weather.
