DC Brau was the first craft brewer in town. It continues to pump out bodacious pale ales, IPAs and porters that are widely available around DC, but you can come to its small, industrial tap room to guzzle at the source. It's super laid-back, with beer poured into plastic cups; half-price Fridays and food-truck Saturdays draw lots of locals.

The brewery offers free tours on Saturdays between 1pm and 4pm. The location is pretty inconvenient to reach by public transport; it's best to rideshare here.
