Kimpton Rouge Hotel

Washington, DC

Rouge's decor is definitely red – deep crimson, to be precise – with bold designs, funky furniture and hip photo art decorating the good-sized rooms, though the style feels a bit like a burlesque club. Specialty rooms have bunk beds and Xbox 360 games, while others come with kitchenettes. Rouge often shows up on hotel deal apps, where rates can be quite reasonable.

Free wine each evening, in-room yoga mats and loaner bikes (if you can snag one) are nice perks. The hotel sits amid embassies and is a short walk from the restaurant scenes of both Dupont Circle and Logan Circle.
