Upper Shirley Vineyards

Resembling a white ocean liner adrift in the green vines, this winery is worth a dedicated trip. Sitting on a bend of the James River near Shirley Plantation, its handsome dining room adjoins the tasting area and a large rear deck overlooks the river. The estate produces viognier, merlot and petit verdot. Food is tasty and attractively presented.
