Gadsby’s Tavern Restaurant

The food isn't all that memorable, but Gadsby's scores high on novelty. Named after the Englishman who operated the tavern from 1796 to 1808 (when it was the center of Alexandria’s social life), it works hard to emulate an 18th-century hostelry; waitstaff even wear period costumes. Kitsch but fun.
