Spiral Jetty

Utah

Created by Robert Smithson in 1970, this beyond-cool art installation is a 1500ft coil of rock and earth spinning out into the water. It's a little hard to find; get directions from Box Elder County Tourism or the nearby Golden Spike Visitor Center. Due to fluctuating lake levels, the jetty may be submerged in water when you visit.
