Zion Lodge

Top choice in Zion National Park

We love the stunning surrounding red-rock cliffs and the location in the middle of Zion Canyon (along with the red permit that allows you to drive to the lodge in shuttle season). But be warned: today's reconstructed lodge is not as grand as other national-park lodges (the 1920s original burned down in 1966). Nevertheless, you'll need to reserve months ahead.

Although they're in wooden buildings with balconies, the motel rooms are just motel rooms: nothing fancy. Carved headboards, wood floors and gas fireplaces do give Western cabins more charm, but paper-thin walls are all that separate you from neighbors. There are two eateries and a big lawn for lounging outside. No room TVs; wi-fi speed is very slow as the signal comes via dish.
