Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant

Set in a renovated old river house, the latest addition to Hilton Head's dining scene raises the (already high) bar for seafood with its mouthwatering amalgam of American, Italian and Southern dishes. Think heaping plates of meat-heavy crab cakes, scallops seared in citrus butter and colossal stuffed shrimp, paired with sides like pimento-cheese grits and creamy collard greens.

The dining room is elegantly adorned in reclaimed wood with natural accents, and offers giant windows overlooking a newly refurbished dock. But dramatic warm-weather sunsets simply must be enjoyed from the covered patio or the outdoor bar. The wine list is excellent.
