Vendue

Charleston

This 84-room boutique inn exudes an inviting, smart, modern style. Reimagined as an art hotel in a 2014 renovation, it displays artwork property-wide (all for sale), is home to an in-house artist studio, and the inn itself unfurls like a masterpiece of architecture and design. A further 2018 renovation has transformed a former coffee shop into a fine dining restaurant, the Drawing Room.

Nightly docent-led art tours, milk and cookies, and wine and hors d'oeuvres are included.

Simplicity and comfort blend seamlessly in rooms in the main building, while eye-catching art adds oomph to classically styled rooms across the street. The popular bar Rooftop at the Vendue is worth a stop even if you're not staying here.

Parking is $25 per night.
