Aptly located in the heart of the CD's 'Little Ethiopia,' Cafe Selam wows with dishes such as foul (a fava-bean concoction that's not at all foul) and fir fir (injera flatbread, yogurt and lamb) – all done to perfection here.
This place is definitely authentic, so expect to scoop up your beans, lamb, okra etc using torn-off bits of bread, not a knife and fork. Selam even roasts its own coffee, the product so beloved by Seattleites, which was first 'discovered,' legend has it, by an Ethiopian goat herder.
