The Hole in the Wall

San Diego

This uber-dive opened in 1942 and became one of the first gay bars in the country, across from the old naval training center. The surrounding auto-repair shops no doubt made for good camo back in the day. Nowadays, it's got a new owner and the crowd is still good fun, enjoying cheap drinks on the tropical patio.

Events include karaoke, beer pong on Fridays, plus comedy and Thai food on Thursdays.
