Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown

San Diego

Yeah, we know, Courtyard is often known for bland rooms in suburban office parks, but this Courtyard is cool because it’s in a beautifully updated 1928 bank tower. Spacious rooms occupy the former offices, connected by hallways of vintage marble. Some have views to the harbor and Coronado Bay Bridge and you can play in the fitness center and billiard room.

Notable retrofits include low-wattage bulbs, digital thermostats and motion sensors. Parking is $45.
