Old Faithful Lodge Cabins

Yellowstone National Park

This 194-cabin lodge was built in 1923 and has its historical roots in Yellowstone’s turn-of-the-century tent camps. It’s not particularly atmospheric, though the rooms themselves are fine, especially the 66 new Frontier cabins recently converted from employee housing.

The remodeled Frontier cabins ($159) come with new carpet and a private bathroom, but no telephone. Rustic cabins ($96) have sinks with hot water, but the toilets and showers are in outside blocks. Most cabins are in blocks of twos or fours. Cabins 200, 201 and 203 have views of Old Faithful through the windows, while the lower loop backs onto the Firehole River.
