Despite mountains looming in the background and the park entrance a half-mile away, this hotel's location at the junction of Hwy 89 and the eastern terminus of Going-to-the-Sun Rd is surprisingly mundane. It's part of a large, paved lot with a gas station, gift shop and grocery store. However, in terms of modern comforts, it outdoes the rustic park lodges.
Myriad facilities include a coffee bar, the Snowgoose Grille and a grand stash of rooms, from motel-style to luxury tipis to plush rooms in the main Great Bear Lodge. The new St Mary Tiny Homes might just be the best of the bunch.
