For more than 60 years, Theatre By the Sea has entertained families with Broadway musicals and new plays. Recent hits have included Hair, Annie and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, which featured an all-singing, all-dancing cast accompanied by an in-house orchestra. Go early to enjoy the lovely flower-filled grounds and dine in the restaurant after the show.

It's a great family evening out and a unique piece of history – the weathered, shingle building is one of the oldest barn theaters in the US. In July it offers a two-week theater camp for kids. Check online for details.
